If you’re in need of a mobile projector platform, and don’t have a lot of money to spare, the video below by “hackett” may provide some inspiration. He’d made a sturdy projector base for a van before, but this one is for use on a tricycle.
Although meant as “some sort of propaganda device,” this mobile projector mount could also be adapted to use with a very heavy camera. The video is by no means a step-by-step tutorial, but more of a broad overview of the techniques for combining junk into something useful. Adapting it for whatever else you have in mind (camcorder, GoPro, etc) seems to be totally in the spirit of this build.
Althought Hackett may not have had a lot of money to work with on this build, he seems to have no lack of ingenuity. That and welding helmets. He seems to have at least 6 of them, as seen at 2:00 in the video.
Thanks to Logan for putting this up at G+, and Hackaday, where he noticed this tripod hack. If you’ve got a tripod hack or camera technique you’d like to see featured here, be sure to let me know in the comments!
